Legalization Service

Documents issued in Thai and intended for use abroad must first be legalized by the Department of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Only then will they be officially recognized as legally valid and accepted for their intended use overseas.
Likewise, foreign-language documents intended for use in Thailand must first be certified by a Thai Embassy or Thai Consulate in the country where the documents were issued, or by that country’s embassy in Thailand. Afterward, the documents can be translated into Thai and submitted for legalization to the Department of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Once all required procedures have been completed, the Thai authorities will officially recognize the documents as legally valid and ready for use in Thailand.
