Document Authentication With an Embassy in Thailand

      Documents issued in English from overseas that are intended for use in Thailand must first be certified by a Thai Embassy or Thai Consulate in the country where the documents were issued, or by that country’s embassy located in Thailand. Afterward, the documents can be translated into Thai and submitted for legalization at the Department of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Once legalized by the Department of Consular Affairs, the documents will be recognized as legally valid and may be used for various official purposes, such as marriage registration or family status registration for a name or surname change (please note that some embassies may have additional or different requirements).

      For documents issued by Thai government authorities that are intended for use abroad, the documents must first be translated into English and submitted for legalization at the Department of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Only then will the documents be considered legally valid for international use. In some cases, the destination country may also require the legalized documents to be further certified by its embassy in Thailand before they can be officially accepted and used overseas.

      If visiting our office is not convenient, you may send your documents to us by post for certification processing. Our team will carefully handle and safeguard your documents throughout the entire process. Once the procedures have been completed on your behalf, the documents will be returned to you via EMS postal service, along with a tracking number so you can conveniently track the delivery status.
